Welcome to my first blog, so apologies in advance for any amatuerism!

So finally landed in Buenos Aires after what seemed to be the longest few flights I´ve ever had. Had the pleasure of the company of a large family from Finglas on the Atlantic flight, of which two of the many sons must have got nintendo wee´s for Christmas. They tried to tell me you can´t turn the sound off, little....

My first impressions of Argentina are very good. It´s very hot and humid
must be about 30 deg. It´s too hot and sticky for me to tell the truth, 3 showers a day job. Lucky I didn´t opt for the upper part of South America ay..
People are very friendly and I can actually understand the odd word thanks to their slower way of speaking, nothing like the wracket on the bus, Dubliners experience from the influx of Spanish kids every summer.

Here´s a few picks.

Central Buenos Aires

My first of MANY argentinian stakes. Tasted similar to perfectly cooked roast beef and only cost about 4euro.

Every city has them...

Classic, ten minutes later I´m watching these excellent drummers making cool loud bangings and low and behold there´s the Legend in the back ground chatting up some local talent. Wish I had his gall.

Only in South America a day and as warned there was a demonstration in the main square. 300 people died 3 years ago in huge fire at a concert near the city centre. The people blame the incompetant authorities for the disaster and want the culprits brought to justice. A local Commy youth zealously filled me in on this and tried in vain to recruit me.

So this was just a tiny taste of Buenos Aires, I will be back later in the month to see what more it´s got to offer. To Bariloche in the lake district of Argentina for New Years Eve next. Here I join up with my first tour group and start a 17 day trip south to Ushuaia, the most southerly town in the world. Till next time on ....
